Robyn Ballweg (Monday, 07 December 2009rnMy dog Gizmo is 13 years old and over the last several years she has had allergic symptoms of itching, redness, skin discoloration (blackened areas), bumps, sneezing, stinky yeasty smells, and paw chewing....all getting worse as the years went by. I tried what typical vets recommend---single ingredient diets, steroid shots, antihistamines. I was never sure the diet was working because sometimes things would ease up a little, so I started thinking it was mostly an allergy to pollen and grass. In desperation, I also tried a raw diet, many other natural & organic dog foods ordered online, certain vitamins, homeopathic solutions, natural remedies, etc... Finally, when I switched to Brushtail canned food and Addiction's Dry Lamb several months ago, she slowly began to look better and itch less. She still itches, but now it is tolerable and her skin is so much better! And, she does not smell! Bless her heart...all those years on that single ingredient duck and potato commercial stuff was all for naught. I feel bad I deprived her of such a varied diet and she so enjoys eating. She loves the Addiction food and I even give her fresh fruits and bites of other healthy food sometimes. I have come to the conclusion after reading and studying so many dog food ingredients, that it is the canola oil and other types of oil added to many dog foods that bothering her so much. At any rate, I could not be more thrilled with Addiction's dog food. Thank you!!!
